Polariton Superfluid Velocity Field (2D)

This is the 2D companion to the 3D height-field polariton condensate simulation: the same driven-dissipative Gross-Pitaevskii equation for an exciton-polariton fluid streaming past a defect, integrated independently on a 2D grid and read out through a genuinely different, 2D-native diagnostic — the superfluid probability current v_s = Im(ψ*∇ψ)/|ψ|², drawn as a live quiver field over a density/phase colour map instead of a rotatable 3D mesh. Below the Bogoliubov sound speed the arrows glide smoothly around the obstacle with no wake (superfluid flow); above the Landau critical velocity the current field visibly tears into a turbulent wake of quantized vortex-antivortex pairs, each one detected by a full 2π phase-winding test around its grid plaquette and tracked live alongside the Mach number and sound speed.
