Real-Time Crystallization Control with Inline PAT

This simulator models a cooling batch crystallizer the way Process Analytical Technology actually controls one: an inline probe reads solution supersaturation in real time, and a closed-loop controller throttles the cooling ramp to hold that supersaturation near a target instead of letting it run open-loop. Nucleation and growth are modeled as competing rate laws driven by the live supersaturation ratio S = C/C*(T), with every crystal's growth consuming solute mass and feeding back into the measured signal — exactly the loop a real Focused Beam Reflectance Measurement or Raman probe closes on a plant crystallizer. Toggle PAT feedback on and off with the same cooling-rate and seed-loading settings to see how open-loop cooling nucleates a wide swarm of small crystals while closed-loop control grows a narrower, coarser population.
