Graphs
Tip angle to the board when the tip first reaches distance D (deg). Green bands: the tool would stick (angle below tolerance and tip fast enough).
Angular velocity components in the body frame (rev/s): x long axis, y thin axis, z wide axis.
Energy (translational and rotational, J) and |L| (normalised) during the flight.
Experiments
A. Turns per metre. With no air, the tool sticks again every 2 pi v / omega metres. The experiment maps the stick windows for the current throw and compares their spacing with that prediction (then repeats with drag).
B. Which axis is stable? Spins the garden trowel about each principal axis in vacuum and compares the measured flip rate or wobble frequency with the closed-form value.
