Morse Potential — Anharmonic Bond Vibration & Dissociation

A covalent bond isn't a perfect spring: compress it and it pushes back hard, stretch it far enough and it simply lets go. The Morse potential is the textbook model that captures both — a well that's harmonic near its minimum but flattens toward a finite dissociation energy. This simulator loads real (approximate) spectroscopic constants for five diatomic molecules, quantizes the well into its true anharmonic vibrational levels, and integrates the exact classical equation of motion so you can watch a bond ring at a chosen vibrational quantum number, absorb or emit an infrared photon to jump levels, and — pushed far enough — dissociate.
