Glacier Calving into the Sea

This simulation depicts glacier calving: a large block of ice fractures from the glacier face and plunges into the ocean, sending up a splash and rippling waves across the surface. Ice geometry is built procedurally from jittered box meshes, the falling chunk follows a simple gravity-driven fall/rotation curve, and impact triggers a burst of particles that arc and fall under gravity. The ocean surface is a displaced plane whose vertex heights are animated with layered sine waves to fake ripples.
