Crop Field — Logistic Growth

Each of the plants on the field grows on its own S-curve toward a soil-limited maximum height, sped up or slowed down by water, fertilizer and sunlight.

How it works ▾
dH/dt = r·H·(1 − H/K)

H = plant height, K = max height set by soil quality, r = growth rate. r rises toward a peak at the ideal water/fertilizer/sun level and falls off if you over- or under-supply it — real crops stall from drought and from waterlogging.

💧 Click a tile to water that zone. 🌱 Drag a rectangle to fertilize it. 🐛 Trigger a pest outbreak, then 🧪 click an infected (rust-red) plant to spray and stop it spreading to its neighbors.
