Skydiving Body-Position Drag & Canopy Simulator

A skydiver's fall speed isn't a fixed number — it's the outcome of a real force balance between gravity and aerodynamic drag, and both sides of that balance keep changing throughout the jump. This simulator integrates the actual terminal-velocity differential equation frame by frame: gravity pulls down at a constant 9.81 m/s², while drag depends on the square of velocity, the skydiver's chosen body position (which sets a real drag-area value, Cd·A), and the local air density, which itself thins exponentially with altitude via the barometric formula. Switch between belly-to-earth, head-down tracking and delta glide mid-freefall to see terminal velocity respond immediately, watch live altitude and velocity graphs trace the whole jump, then pull the parachute at your chosen deployment altitude and see whether the resulting canopy descent rate lands you safely.
