Straight-line reference Actual (rotating-frame) path

Coriolis Effect Simulator (2D)

This top-down 2D simulator launches a ball from the center of a rotating disk, or across a latitude-tuned patch of a spinning planet, and draws two paths at once: a dashed straight line showing where the ball would go with no rotation, and a solid curved line showing what it actually traces in the rotating frame. Switch between the two reference frames, tune the rotation rate or latitude, set the launch speed and heading, and watch the live readout compute the real Coriolis acceleration a = −2Ω×v as the ball flies — including how the deflection flips direction between the Northern and Southern hemispheres and vanishes at the equator.
