Clockwork Gear Train Simulator (2D)

This 2D simulator draws a meshing gear train from above: a driving gear turns at a speed you set and passes its motion through an optional idler to a driven gear whose own tooth count you control. Every readout is computed from real gear-train physics — the driven gear's angular velocity is the driver's speed multiplied by the inverse tooth-count ratio, while its torque is the driver's torque multiplied by the tooth-count ratio the other way round, since power is conserved across an ideal mesh. Toggle the idler gear to see how it reverses the output direction back to match the driver without changing the speed or torque ratio at all.
