Your subjective sense of "how long that felt" is not read off a wall clock — psychology's scalar-timing theory models it as a pacemaker oscillating in the gamma band, gated by attention, filling an accumulator whose count is compared against a calibrated reference rate. This simulation renders all three stages in real 3D: a pulsing pacemaker core, a rotating attentional-gate aperture, and a ring of pulses chasing around an accumulator track, while three sliders — pacemaker frequency, attentional gate, and an arousal/heart-rate multiplier — let you speed the internal clock up or starve it, watching perceived duration visibly pull ahead of or fall behind real elapsed time.
