A whole-brain connectome upload is not a one-time act — it's an archive that has to survive indefinitely. This simulator renders the archived connectome as a lattice of thousands of independent data shards, each replicated across several copies. Every simulated year, storage media fail at random, maintenance cycles try to re-replicate anything still partially intact, and shards that lose every last replica turn permanently dark — a literal, watchable model of how "digital immortality" lives or dies on storage engineering rather than on the scan itself. Tune scan resolution, replication factor, annual failure rate and maintenance frequency and watch the fidelity curve either stabilize or collapse over centuries.
