3D Dendritic Spine Plasticity

This is the three-dimensional counterpart to the Dendritic Spine Plasticity Lab: a real dendrite segment, modeled as a curved 3D tube you can orbit and zoom, studded with instanced spine meshes that grow, shrink, sprout and retract in real time. Every spine runs its own leaky-integrator calcium trace of local synaptic activity, and its live structural size and calcium level are rendered directly as head radius and color — no discrete spike network, no synaptic-weight learning, just the structural half of plasticity playing out across an actual 3D surface. Drag a local burst zone to a position along the dendrite, add a spontaneous background rate, or trigger a deprivation pulse, and watch which patches of the dendrite densify and which thin out.
