Memory Engram Tagging & Optogenetic False-Memory Implantation (2D)

This simulator renders a population of hippocampal/amygdalar neurons on a pannable, zoomable 2D field and lets you replay the classic engram-tagging experiments: encode a neutral Context A, encode a fear-inducing Context B, watch how much the two tagged ensembles overlap, and then optogenetically reactivate the Context-B engram while the "animal" is still in neutral Context A β€” driving a freezing response out of cells that were never active during the real Context-A experience. Excitability-driven allocation, context-similarity-controlled overlap, and a saturating ChR2 reactivation curve are all modelled explicitly and exposed as live controls, a Jaccard-overlap readout, and a real-time excitability histogram.
