Mobile apps stream rich content — video, high‑resolution images, embedded media — in short chunks that a content‑delivery pipeline can encode at several quality tiers. This simulator runs a real throughput‑estimation and buffer‑based ABR (adaptive bitrate) algorithm against a fluctuating mobile network: harmonic‑mean bandwidth estimation, a configurable safety margin, and a buffer‑protection rule pick the delivered quality tier chunk by chunk, exactly as HLS/DASH‑style mobile content pipelines do. Switch network class and volatility to simulate 3G, 4G or 5G/Wi‑Fi conditions and handoff‑style drops, or force "Always Max" / "Always Min" to see why naive quality selection stalls playback or wastes bandwidth compared to the adaptive strategy.
