Click the tree, or the sand, to shake loose a burst of petals
This is the flat, side-view companion to the 3D sakura garden simulator: a single cherry tree stands over a raked-sand zen garden with stepping stones, and every petal that lets go of the canopy falls under the same asymmetric-drag flutter model — angle of attack against the airflow drives both drag and lift, so petals tumble and glide instead of dropping straight down. Adjust wind strength to add gusts, raise the petal-fall rate to thin the canopy faster, and move the bloom-stage slider from budding through full bloom to bare branches while watching how many petals have fallen and what share of the canopy remains.
