Extraordinary Optical Transmission — Nanohole Array

A periodic array of holes far smaller than the wavelength of light, punched through an opaque metal film, transmits dramatically more light than classical diffraction theory allows — at specific wavelengths set by the lattice. This simulator computes that plasmonic transmission spectrum from a simplified Drude model of the metal and the surface-plasmon momentum-matching condition, renders the nanohole array as a real instanced 3D lattice whose holes glow in proportion to the transmission at your chosen probe wavelength, and gives you live numeric readouts comparing the plasmon-enhanced transmission against the classical Bethe single-aperture limit.
