Ball milling and other severe-plastic-deformation processes turn coarse metal powder into a nanocrystalline microstructure one impact at a time. This simulator integrates the real Kocks-Mecking dislocation-density evolution equation strike by strike, derives the current subgrain size from the similitude relation d = K/√ρ, and renders a 300 nm cube of the powder particle as a live 3D grid of shrinking, reorienting grains. A Taylor-hardening readout tracks how the rising dislocation density strengthens the powder as it refines toward its material-specific saturation grain size — the same physics that sets the practical size limit for ball-milled and equal-channel-angular-pressed nanocrystalline metals.
