A bulk crystal melts at one fixed temperature, but a nanoparticle does not — its melting point falls as it shrinks, because a growing share of its atoms sit on the destabilizing surface rather than in the well-bound interior. This simulator computes that shift directly from the real Gibbs–Thomson equation for gold, tin and lead, plotting Tm(r) against radius while a cross-section of the particle shows crystalline atoms, a premelting quasi-liquid skin and fully molten atoms responding live to your radius and temperature sliders.
