Nanocapacitor: High-κ Dielectric & Tunneling Leakage

This simulator builds a real metal–insulator–metal nanocapacitor and lets you push its dielectric down to sub-nanometer thickness the way chip designers actually have to. Pick a dielectric — from ordinary SiO₂ to the high-κ oxides (HfO₂, ZrO₂, TiO₂) that replaced it in modern DRAM and logic gate stacks — and watch capacitance density, equivalent oxide thickness, and quantum-tunneling leakage current all update live from the same WKB-approximation model, while animated electrons visibly hop across the barrier at a rate tied to the computed leakage.
