Nanowire Thermoelectric Energy-Diagram Lab (2D)

This 2D companion to the nanowire thermoelectric viewer replaces the orbiting 3D render with a real energy-level diagram: subband energies computed from particle-in-a-box confinement (En = n²ħ²π²/2m*d² in physical eV), a Fermi–Dirac occupation fill whose thermal smearing scales with kBT, and a live density-of-states plot that reshapes from a smooth √E curve (bulk) into a staircase (2D well) or spiky van Hove comb (1D wire). Switch dimensionality, shrink the wire's cross-section to push subbands apart, slide the Fermi level across the resulting features, and watch the Mott-formula Seebeck coefficient, conductivity and power factor respond in real units alongside electrons visibly drifting from the hot end of the wire lane to the cold end.
