Silver Nanoparticle Antibacterial Textile Coating (2D)

Antibacterial nanotextiles work by grafting silver nanoparticles onto fiber surfaces so they continuously dissolve and release Ag+ ions into the fabric's moisture film. This top-down 2D simulator solves the underlying physics end to end: Noyes–Whitney dissolution kinetics drain a finite silver reservoir, a real 2D finite-difference solver diffuses the released ions across the fiber's surroundings, and a Hill-function pharmacodynamic model kills nearby bacteria in proportion to local ion concentration versus their minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). Pan and zoom the field, tune release rate, diffusion coefficient, bacterial resistance, kill ceiling and regrowth rate, then simulate laundering cycles to see the real-world durability problem that limits how long antibacterial textiles stay effective.
