HgCdTe Bandgap & Infrared Cutoff: 2D Detector Model

This is the 2D counterpart to the 3D HgCdTe nanocrystal model, computing the exact same composition- and temperature-dependent bandgap through four analytic plots instead of a rendered lattice: a bandgap-vs-composition curve traced against a 300 K reference, a valence/conduction band diagram that fired photons either punch through or coast past, a transmission-vs-wavelength spectrum that switches at the predicted cutoff, and a top-down cation-lattice map showing the same Cd/Hg substitution pattern as the 3D scene. Every panel reacts live to the same cadmium-fraction, temperature and photon-wavelength sliders, and the readouts add an illustrative relative-detectivity gauge showing why cooling toward cryogenic temperatures suppresses thermal dark current in real detectors.
