This 2D top-down companion visualizes the same photoelectric-absorption → electron-hole cascade → activator recombination chain as the 3D scintillator simulator, using a cross-section of the iodide lattice instead of a 3D block. Pick a material (CsI, NaI or the perovskite CsPbI₃) to compare bandgap and pair-creation cost, then tune the incident photon energy, the activator's bulk radiative efficiency, and the nanocrystal's own size — the genuinely nanoscale twist, since surface trap states quench a growing share of the light as the crystal shrinks. Live readouts track the resulting photon burst, light yield in photons per MeV, and the Poisson-limited energy resolution. Drag to pan the lattice and scroll to zoom in on an event.
