Feed-Forward Loop Network Motif

The feed-forward loop is systems biology's most common three-gene network motif: an input transcription factor X drives an intermediate gene Y, and a downstream gene Z is controlled by both X and Y together through Boolean AND/OR promoter logic. This simulator renders the circuit as a live 3D gene-regulatory network — three nodes glowing with their instantaneous concentration and particles streaming along the regulatory edges — while integrating the real ordinary differential equations that govern Y and Z. Fire a short or a long input pulse, switch between AND and OR logic, and watch the resulting sign-sensitive delay: an AND-gated loop filters out brief noise and only responds to sustained signals, while an OR-gated loop responds instantly but keeps signalling after the input has already stopped.
