Models DNA replication: the helicase enzyme unwinds the double helix at a moving "replication fork", separating the two template strands so that DNA polymerase can synthesize new complementary strands base-by-base (semi-conservative replication). Each of the 90 base pairs is a set of individually-positioned Three.js meshes (backbone spheres, base spheres, bond cylinders) whose world positions are recomputed every frame from parametric helix equations, with a lerp-driven "splay" offset simulating unzipping and additive-blended glow sprites marking the active synthesis zone.
