Metabolic Pathway Flux Simulator

Metabolic engineering redirects a cell's chemistry toward a target product by tuning enzyme expression and removing competing reactions. This simulator visualizes a small branching metabolic network in 3D: substrate molecules flow along a tube from S to intermediate M1, then split between an engineered production pathway toward Product P and a native competing pathway toward Byproduct Bp. Michaelis–Menten kinetics set each step's speed, and the branch ratio at M1 is set by the relative expression of enzymes E2 and E3 — so raising E2, throttling substrate feed, or knocking out E3 entirely all reshape the flux in real time, exactly the levers used in real strain engineering.
