Enzymes are biological catalysts: proteins whose active sites bind a specific substrate, lower the energy barrier of a reaction and release the product, ready to repeat the cycle millions of times. This simulator visualizes that catalytic cycle directly — substrate molecules diffuse through a cell-like volume, bind an enzyme's active site on contact, are held for a brief catalytic delay, then convert to product and release the site. Adjust substrate concentration, temperature, a competing inhibitor and the number of active sites to see how each reshapes the reaction rate, and watch the simulated rate trace out the same saturating curve described by the Michaelis–Menten equation.
