Super-Enhancer Condensates: Phase Separation & BET Inhibition

Transcriptional coactivators cluster into liquid-like biomolecular condensates at super-enhancers, concentrating the transcription machinery on the genes that define cell identity. This simulator models a population of multivalent coactivator molecules diffusing under overdamped Langevin dynamics with a short-range sticker-and-spacer attraction: raise the valency or concentration and the dispersed gas of particles nucleates into a dominant droplet; dial in a BET-inhibitor (JQ1) dose and watch the same droplet dissolve as the drug competitively blocks the bromodomain-acetyl-lysine contacts holding it together. Live readouts track the largest condensate's share of all molecules, the number of distinct droplets, and the effective interaction-to-thermal-energy ratio that governs the phase transition.
