Weak binder (high Kd) Tight binder (low Kd)

SELEX 2D: Affinity Distribution Selection

SELEX is the directed-evolution process used to discover DNA/RNA aptamers — folded nucleic-acid ligands that bind a target with antibody-like specificity. This 2D simulator models the same library of 260 candidate sequences and the same Langmuir-isotherm binding, stochastic stringent partitioning, and mutagenic PCR amplification as the 3D version, but plots the population directly in affinity space: a live isotherm/survival-probability curve on top, and a per-round dot histogram of every aptamer's Kd on the bottom. Tune the target concentration, wash stringency and mutation rate, run rounds one at a time or on auto-play, and watch the histogram collapse toward tight binders exactly as the affinity distribution does on the bench.
