Clonal Selection: How the Adaptive Immune System Picks a Fighter (2D)

This 2D model simulates real clonal selection: a diverse repertoire of T-cell and B-cell clones, each with its own randomly-shaped receptor, sits dormant until a dendritic cell presents a specific antigen fragment. Only the clones whose receptor shape and colour actually fit the antigen cross the affinity threshold and get activated — everything else stays dormant. Watch the winning T-cell clone divide into a clonal army, hand off activation to its matching B-cell clone, and watch that clone expand, differentiate into plasma cells, and contract into memory. Adjust repertoire diversity and the affinity threshold, or roll a new antigen, to see a different clone win each time.
