Medical Device Steam Sterilization Validation

Before a reusable surgical instrument or an implantable device ships, its sterilization cycle has to be validated: the manufacturer proves that a known worst-case microbial load is driven down to a Sterility Assurance Level of one-in-a-million or better. This simulator models that validation as it really works — a first-order microbial kill curve inside a 3D autoclave chamber. Set the chamber temperature, exposure time, starting bioburden and the load's D-value, run the cycle through steam purge and hold, and watch the live population curve, the temperature-adjusted D-value, and the resulting SAL cross (or fail to cross) the regulatory threshold.
