Diabetic Neuropathy: Length-Dependent Nerve Conduction Loss

This simulator renders a single peripheral nerve fibre at length-dependent-neuropathy scale — from the spinal cord to the toe — as a chain of myelinated internodes and nodes of Ranvier. Two sliders set cumulative hyperglycemic injury (glycemic control and disease duration), an ischemia toggle adds vasa nervorum microvascular damage, and firing an action potential sends a real impulse down the fibre so you can watch saltatory conduction slow through demyelinated segments and block entirely once distal axon loss passes the point degeneration has reached — reproducing, mechanistically, why diabetic neuropathy begins as numbness in the toes rather than the thigh.
