Cerebrospinal Fluid Dynamics: Ventricular Flow & Hydrocephalus

This simulator renders the ventricular system of the brain in 3D — lateral ventricles, third ventricle, the aqueduct of Sylvius, and fourth ventricle — and animates real cerebrospinal fluid physiology: choroid-plexus production, cardiac-cycle-driven pulsatile flow through the aqueduct, and arachnoid-granulation absorption into the venous sinuses. A mass-balance model (Davson's equation for outflow, the Monro-Kellie pressure-volume relationship for intracranial pressure) drives both the visible ventricular dilation and the live ICP readout, so increasing outflow resistance or production visibly reproduces the mechanism of obstructive hydrocephalus in real time.
