After a spinal cord injury, the neural circuitry that generates walking rhythm often survives below the lesion — it just loses the excitatory drive normally sent down from the brain. Epidural electrical stimulation (EES) restores enough of that drive to switch the circuit back on. This 2D canvas simulator draws a lumbosacral cord segment, a movable electrode, and a live scrolling trace of a real half-center CPG (Matsuoka oscillator) with Henneman size-principle recruitment — tune stimulation amplitude, frequency and rostrocaudal position and watch the oscillator sit silent below its own excitation threshold, then burst into fused alternating stepping, a choppy low-frequency twitch, or a high-frequency co-contraction, exactly as the same equations do in the 3D model.
