Teratogen Critical Period Explorer (2D)

Each organ system in a developing embryo has its own narrow window of peak vulnerability to teratogens — chemicals, drugs, infections or radiation that disrupt normal development. This 2D timeline renders eight organ systems (brain, heart, eyes, ears, arms, legs, palate, external genitalia) as horizontal bands across gestational weeks 0–40, each carrying the same real susceptibility curve used in the 3D version, derived from classic teratology timing charts. Drag the exposure-week marker (or press play) to watch each organ's band brighten and dim as its window opens and closes, mark a teratogen exposure at any week to see exactly which organs were caught in their critical period, and track a running cumulative-risk score across multiple marked exposures.
