Beta-Cell Compensation: The Diabetes Tipping Point (2D)

This simulator renders the same real systems-biology model of type 2 diabetes onset as the 3D version — a fast glucose–insulin feedback loop nested inside a slow pancreatic beta-cell function equation — but drives it with an explicit, user-controlled insulin-resistance progression rate instead of a static sensitivity dial, and plots the result as live glucose-vs-time and beta-cell-function-vs-time curves on a 2D canvas. Push the progression rate up and watch the long, flat compensated plateau shrink and the tipping point arrive sooner; once glucose crosses the glucotoxic threshold, beta-cell function's decline visibly steepens as the runaway feedback takes hold.
