Cardiac Strain Carpet Map (2D)

Tagged cardiac MRI (SPAMM) burns a grid of magnetization markers into the heart muscle so its own Lagrangian motion can be read directly off the images. This 2D companion renders the same transmural deformation field used by the 3D tagging simulator, but as a native space-time carpet map: a heatmap whose two axes are transmural depth (endocardium → epicardium) and cardiac phase, coloured by local circumferential strain, with a live radial/twist profile beneath it — the same representation strain-imaging software produces from real tagged or feature-tracked cine sequences, independent of any rendered ring geometry.
