Clockwork Orrery (2D)

Top-down brass orrery: six planets orbit at their true relative periods (Mercury's 0.24-year orbit is compressed to 4 seconds, every other planet scaled from that), driven by a visible ring-and-pinion gear train at the centre — the same tooth-count trick a real clockwork orrery uses to reproduce Kepler's relative orbital speeds from one driving motion. Click a planet to highlight it and read its real orbital period.
