Standard Linear Solid: Creep & Stress Relaxation

The Standard Linear Solid (Zener model) is the classic three-parameter spring-dashpot analog for a viscoelastic material: an equilibrium spring in parallel with a Maxwell arm (a spring in series with a dashpot). This simulator renders that mechanical analog in 3D and drives it with a real step input — either a constant applied stress (a creep test) or a constant applied strain (a stress relaxation test) — integrating the exact closed-form solution of the governing differential equation. Watch the internal node between the Maxwell spring and dashpot move as it silently redistributes load, read live strain, stress and time, and trace the resulting response curve while you tune the equilibrium modulus, the arm modulus, the dashpot viscosity and the step size.
