Elemental composition tells you what a sample is made of; molecular spectroscopy tells you how its atoms are bonded. Isotope-ratio mass spectrometry answers a different question entirely: within a single element, what fraction is the rare heavy isotope versus the common light one? This simulator synthesizes a batch of noisy replicate IRMS measurements for a chosen isotope system — carbon, oxygen or nitrogen — converts them to delta notation against the correct international standard, and classifies the sample's mean δ value against real terrestrial and meteoritic reference ranges. Watch how instrument noise widens the measured distribution, and how a δ value that falls outside every known natural range earns the "anomalous" verdict — the same red flag (and, almost always, the same mundane explanation) a real isotope lab would report.
