Nanowire Transistor Quantum Confinement

Shrink a gate-all-around nanowire channel down to a few nanometers and quantum mechanics starts setting the transistor's electrical limits: treating the wire as an infinite cylindrical well quantizes its radial subbands at energies set by the zeros of the Bessel function, and the lowest subband climbs as 1/R² as the diameter shrinks. This simulator renders a real 3D gate-all-around nanowire — source and drain contacts, a translucent wraparound gate, and instanced electrons flowing through the channel — and computes the first three confinement subbands, the resulting threshold-voltage shift, and a subthreshold-to-saturation drain current live as you sweep diameter, channel material, gate voltage and temperature.
