Self-Healing Polymer: Chain Interdiffusion at a Crack

Not every self-healing material relies on rupturing microcapsules — many thermoplastics and vitrimer networks heal intrinsically, purely through molecular motion. Press two freshly-fractured faces together above the material's glass transition and polymer chain ends slowly reptate across the interface, rebuilding entanglements one chain at a time. This simulator renders that process in 3D: individual chains snake across a crack plane while temperature and molecular-weight sliders drive a real Arrhenius/reptation model of the healing time, and a live fracture-strength gauge tracks recovery through the Wool-O'Connor t^(1/4) law used to design real polymer welding and self-healing coating processes.
