Battery Cycle Aging & Capacity Fade Simulator

This simulation explores the complex electrochemical processes within advanced lithium-ion batteries as they age. A real 3D cell renders Li⁺ ions shuttling between a cathode and a graphite anode on every simulated charge/discharge cycle, while a solid-electrolyte-interphase (SEI) film visibly thickens on the anode surface — the dominant mechanism behind long-term capacity fade. Adjusting C-rate, cell temperature and depth of discharge drives a real square-root-of-cycles aging model with an Arrhenius temperature dependence, and live readouts track cycle count, state of charge, SEI thickness and capacity retention down to the pack's 80% end-of-life threshold, showing exactly how usage patterns affect battery performance and longevity.
