Collagen Fibril Self-Assembly Simulator

This biotechnology simulation renders collagen fibrillogenesis — the process by which triple-helix collagen molecules diffuse, nucleate and self-assemble into the striated fibrils that give biomaterials like collagen scaffolds, hydrogels and wound-care matrices their structure. Free monomers drift through a simulated assay volume until nucleation seeds appear and existing fibril tips capture nearby material, exactly as real turbidity-assay kinetics show a lag phase followed by rapid growth and a plateau once the monomer pool is exhausted. Temperature, pH and concentration sliders control the underlying rate constant the way a real biomaterials lab controls an in vitro assembly assay, and live readouts track the fraction assembled, fibril count, average fibril length and elapsed time.
