Injection well
Production well
Dissolution cavity
This 2D companion drives real solution-mining (in-situ leaching) engineering math instead of a decorative cave: a mass-transfer-limited dissolution rate (rate ∝ concentration gradient × wetted cavity area) grows a real cavity around the injection well, a stirred-tank solute balance tracks brine concentration against a temperature-set saturation ceiling that halts local dissolution when reached, and a production well recovers Na₂CO₃ at an efficiency that ramps up as the dissolution front sweeps toward it, reaching full recovery at breakthrough when the cavity radius meets the well spacing.
