Dielectric Elastomer Actuator — 2D Cross-Section

Dielectric elastomer actuators are one of the leading "smart material" families used in soft robotics: a thin rubber film between two flexible electrodes contracts in thickness and expands in area purely from an applied electric field, with no motors or gears. This 2D version renders the actual cross-section geometry — film compression, radial bulge, and surface charge — driven by the real Maxwell-stress physics: p = ε₀εᵣE² squeezing an incompressible elastomer, across three real actuator materials, a mechanical bias load, adjustable film thickness, live readouts, and a traced strain-vs-voltage curve against the breakdown limit.
