This is the 2D companion to the 3D tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy simulator. Rather than a perspective view of a probe sliding along one line, it represents the sample as a genuine two-dimensional plane and lets you probe the plasmonic gap-mode near field at any point with the mouse, or run an actual 2D raster scan — row by row, the way a real scanning-probe Raman instrument images a surface — that builds a super-resolved intensity map of five molecules scattered across both spatial dimensions. The underlying physics is identical to the 3D model (the same dipole near-field falloff, image-dipole doubling and Lorentzian plasmon-resonance weighting), generalized from a one-dimensional lateral offset to a full 2D lateral distance, so the two simulators are numerically consistent while showing the imaging process in a way a 3D perspective camera never could: the complete spatial resolution trade-off, visible all at once across the plane.
