Austenite fraction vs. temperature — hysteresis loop

Shape Memory Alloy Wire Bender (2D)

This 2D companion to the 3D nitinol simulator lets you bend a shape-memory wire by hand while it's cold and soft in its martensite phase, then drive it through its real transformation temperatures to watch it spring back to its trained shape. A live hysteresis-loop chart plots austenite fraction against temperature as you heat and cool, showing the separate heating branch (As–Af) and cooling branch (Mf–Ms) that never retrace each other — the same thermal hysteresis that lets nitinol stents, eyeglass frames and actuators hold a stable shape at body or room temperature.
