Drag the magnet around the droplet

Ferrofluid Spike Attraction (2D)

This is the 2D canvas counterpart to the 3D ferrofluid dish: a magnetic droplet viewed from the side that stretches a single needle-sharp spike toward a magnet you drag around it, exactly like the original — rather than the multi-spike Rosensweig crown of the sibling ferrofluid pair, this mechanic tracks one moving magnet and lets a single point of the surface respond to it. Raise the field strength to stretch the needle taller, flip polarity to turn the spike into a dimple that pushes away from the magnet instead of toward it, thicken the viscosity to calm the droplet's ambient wobble, and fire a field pulse for a brief transient jolt — all driven by the same alignment-based deformation model as the 3D engine, just rendered as a 2D cross-section.
