A newly captured organism sits in a containment pod driven by a lumped thermal-balance model (the same Q = m·Cp·ΔT relation used for triage in the source article), a Michaelis–Menten nutrient-uptake curve and a Gaussian thermal-performance factor. Dial in heater power, nutrient infusion and chamber pressure to hold the creature's core temperature near its optimum and its metabolic rate in a healthy range — tissue stress climbs whenever any vital drifts outside the safe band and relaxes only once all three sit inside it together, while occasional hull micro-fractures jolt the ambient chill and test how fast you can recover. A rotatable cross-section, a scrolling vitals strip chart and live thermal/metabolic response-curve plots give a layered read on the organism's state alongside the same three controls as the 3D bay.
